The single parents’ guide to dating again.
Going through a divorce is hard. Getting back into the dating scene can seem even harder. You have been out of the scene for a while now and are not sure how to get back in. Let alone, back in with kids in tow.
When I first found myself back in the dating scene after having my daughter and getting divorced, I was excited and scared all at once. I didn’t think that I would be able to find a good man that would be willing to take me on with my daughter in the picture.
Sure, it is harder to date when you have kids. You don’t have as much time to go out to meet people. It takes time with you away from your kids and you have to spend your money to pay for a babysitter. Sure seems like it would be much more rewarding to be shelling out the dough to spend time with someone you already find special than to be out looking for that person.
That is why I turned to online dating and would definitely recommend it to other single parents. With online dating you can get to know people from the comfort of your own home with your children tucked quietly into bed. I spent many a night with my Amarretto Sour on the rocks in hand and my music playing in the background chatting it up with the newest “prospects” that I was meeting through my personal ad or through one I had responded to. My social life was enriched overnight and I loved it.
Then came the time to go out an meet face-to-face the men that I found “worthy” of my time and the hard earned money that I would have to pay the neighborhood babysitter. I followed my 6 Simple Rules for Internet Dating for my safety, but what about the safety of my child?
As parents, we are always protective of our kids. Their emotional and physical health means the world to us. It is even more important that you protect your personal information such as your address and home phone number when you first meet someone. After all, it doesn’t just give them access to you that you may not want them to have, it also gives them access to your children. Don’t give it out until you have met them face-to-face and are certain that you feel comfortable with them. There is no fail safe way of knowing for sure that someone is a good person. Listen to your intuition! It is a powerful tool. You can also have someone checked out at Check My Mate.com if you want to check all their possible criminal or marriage records.
You don’t want to leave your children completely out of it either. If someone is special enough for you to continue spending time with, they should be special enough to spend time with your kids. You shouldn’t be wasting your time with someone who can’t love your children too. After all, when it comes to marriage or any long-term relationship you are a package deal with your children.
Emotionally you have to consider how every one of your actions will affect your child. Are they old enough to understand dating? When I felt that a relationship was ready to move to the next level, I would allow that person to meet my daughter. I would always introduce them as just a friend and affection would be off limits in front of her. When she got older, I was luckily able to explain about dating to her and the fact that every man I dated was not necessarily going to be her “Daddy” (her birth father is a “dead-beat dad” with no contact). You have to be up front with them at whatever maturity level you think they can handle. You also have to listen to them. Believe it or not, your kids may have a better sense of whom is right for you then you have yourself. After all, they are not blinded by the lust or love that you are in the middle of at that moment.
Listen to and respect your childrens’ opinions. That doesn’t mean that you have to instantly dump someone your kids don’t like. After all, your kids may still be hurting from your break-up with their Father and like most children, they are still hoping the two of you will get back together. However, you should keep in mind the feelings of your kids. Do you want to possibly marry a person your child doesn’t like or trust? I dated a man once that my daughter told me she didn’t like. She could never put her finger on exactly why, it was just a feeling. It turned out that feeling was justifiable and he really did turn out to be a jerk. The first time she met my current husband, I tucked her into bed and she whispered in my ear “this is a good one, Mom. You need to try to keep him.” She was 10 years old at the time. Now she is about to turn 13 and that man is about to adopt her. Gotta say…she was right!
So, like I keep saying in other articles before this one…listen to your heart. You will know when it is time for someone to meet your kids. You will also know when your kids are ready to meet them. Just remember: your child’s wellbeing is more important than your busy social life. Keep in mind, though, that when you are happy, they will be happy too.

The style of your organization reflects the way systems are built and used by members of the organization. Interfacing is a common issue between departments and systems; “what should we pass, when and how?”
Systems are a product of this organizational style. Internal competition between departments is not often bridged by infrastructural solutions, although this should be the case at least for a minimum level. This minimum level is to make sure that customers are not aware of some main issues. Not only Internet has made it possible to see through company walls, a simple call will also do; have you ever dealt with the following example?
You call your service provider. Call, because the internet connection is down.
“Could you provide me your name please?”
- You spell out your name.
“What is your telephone number?”
- You provide them the number (from previous experience you know that they are able to see the number you are dealing from, but okay…)
“Could you tell us the problem?” (sometimes preceded by another script line where asking for identification)
So then you explain a bit what happened. And then you are told to hold-on, because they will connect you to a service department. And what happens? You are to inform them with the same information you had just spelled out. If you are lucky there is no other department to care for this issue, but it is possible.
I tend to call these collaborative solutions infrastructural, because they are not specific for one system usage, nor should they be dedicated to one department or unit. But what ever you call the solution, in the example above, there are solutions to pass through information when transferring a call to some else from whatever department or business area.
There are a million ways in which organizations may differ. Yet, observed from the outside there is a certain threshold level in which every company should be equally transparent to the client. That is not to do with style, but just with credibility.

For the average poker player, the only contact that they may have with high stakes poker is through the televised. Through televised coverage, high stakes poker games appear to be high tension and high speed. This can give new players unrealistic explanations about what poker playing should be. Oftentimes, players will sign up for tournaments without any grasp about the actual nuts and bolts of multi day tournament play. Before you get carried away, however, remember that these programs are highly edited. The audience at home only gets to see the small sections of the tournament that are deemed exciting.
A lot of things get cut out of televised poker tournaments, so the viewer at home is not getting an accurate idea of what the world of high stakes poker is really like. Real poker tournaments take days, not hours. A lot of what is cut off from televised poker tournaments are the slow hands, where most people fold or play rather cautiously. However, you have to remember as a poker player, that most of your time will be spent playing slow hands. High tension show downs are rare in real life, as are all in bets. Not everything on television is entirely accurate; after all, it’s supposed to be entertainment.

OK. The American Baby Boomers dropped the anti- establishment ball. So certain in the late sixties and seventies that corporate money grubbing was at the root of nearly every social evil, many bought the myth that things could better be changed from within the system. Many immersed themselves in the system and were swallowed up in busy-ness. New technology, opportunities for economic advancement and security, put questions of right and wrong on the back burner for twenty five years - a sad marker of maturity.
Now they are reaching retirement age and current events are conspiring to remind them of unfinished business. If they can possibly recover the health and energy they lost on their detour, they are going back to the right and wrong of the status quo, they have been supporting.
The naked idealism of their youth created a generation gap with their parents and will likely create the same gap with their children; a generation that largely sees the future as next year and global events as mysteries somehow connected to money. The Baby Boomers will have to find allies among the grandchildren, if they hope to change the future in the next twenty years. I think they will pull it off.
Rejecting their parental role models, the Boomers were truly without any at all. Heroes were scarce. They became a social experiment with very mixed results. They have been pummeled with idealism backlash. They have submitted to pragmatism. It has not fit them or worn well. They are about to shed their pragmatic skins and return to their idealistic roots. They have a hindsight that reinvigorates the possibilities for the future beyond that which was conceivable twenty five years ago. And they have economic power far beyond that of their youth. They can now change trade policies simply by agreeing with each other they need to be changed. They can now see the abject failure of two party politics. Beginning in another five years, the oldest of them will be free to return to political activism. Some aren’t waiting.
Half or more of them will choose to remain employed at least part time. At first glance it would seem they will be competing with their children and grandchildren for that employment. That will not be the case. They will become the greatest group of corporate drop outs the world has ever seen. Moving back into the world of individualism, they will create many of the new, unincorporated businesses that will employ millions with better working conditions and personal satisfaction, than has been known before. They will cease their support of universal corporate power and begin creating global hope and prosperity. They will begin setting the examples and providing the models the world craves.
Half of those remaining employed will do so from economic necessity. Lack of private pensions, inadequacy of Social Security and little support from their children will force them to remain employed. However, they will have options they could not imagine before the Twenty First Century.
They will personally take on the responsibility to provide full and profitable employment for all those who want it, not on a mere national scale, but a global one, because their successes will be documented and published globally. They will create worthwhile global models. They will shed the national fraud that we are better because we have more than everybody else. It is as though a generation has patiently awaited the opportunity to take their message around the world.
Neither is it to be expected that U.S. Baby Boomers will be alone in their efforts. Most of those born of World War Two veterans are of common spirit and ready to move beyond social criticism to social activism. We see it with Bill Gates and Ted Turner, Wayne Dyer and Oprah Winfrey. The list of progressive thinkers grows daily and globally. Boomers were sadly deficient in role models. No more. We have them for us and generations that follow. This makes all the difference.
In ten more years philanthropists and global charities will be asking how much they can do with a dollar, instead of how many dollars can we raise and waste. How much difference will that make in social progress? In ten years consumers will convert to disciplined customers and prosumers. People that choose to produce more than they consume and put it on the market at prices the poor can afford. In ten years corporate power will de centralize and move back to informed people as has been promised for a hundred years by those consolidating corporate power. In ten years the people will dare to say no.
In ten years forgiveness will be a political option and the cause of violence will receive more attention than the violence we now call news. In ten more years there will be such a wholesale de centralization of power, political, religious and economic, the whole earth will sigh with relief.
Few today feel free enough to imagine such a future but then, the future has never depended on the many. It has depended on the visionaries and the corruption of their visions by the war and power mongers. They have had their day. Their work is done. The corporate puppets that pass for government are dying off and giving up. Wisdom is replacing rhetoric and popularity, winning new supporters and contributors every day. If you can’t see it, perhaps you haven’t really been looking. As we approach what seems to be the end of civilization, we begin to appreciate the joke that has passed for civilization for six thousand years. It dawns on us all that we finally have a chance to declare global bankruptcy in all areas of life and truly make a fresh start.
Christian Scripture, corporate power and current events all argue that things will get much worse before they get better. The end time message is: prepare, prepare, prepare. Take it or leave it!

From LAND OF ODDS
We at Land of Odds get many questions about what glue to use with rhinestones and other beading and jewelry-making projects. We’re craftspersons and silversmiths, and we have a shop where we sell rhinestones, beads, jewelry findings, cabochons and the like.
Nothing is perfect, but based on our experiences, here are some good tips:
- Always experiment with your adhesives first, before you use an adhesive on your final project.
- Glues vary widely in terms of which materials they stick to, how well they form a bond between two smooth surfaces, and how the glue bond ages, both in terms of durability and color.
- Clean the excess glue off your piece before you display or sell it.
- You will probably have to rely on more than one type of glue to accommodate all your types of projects.
Superglue
Superglue is not our favorite! It often ruins rhinestones and other pieces we use in jewelry-making. It’s bond is tough, but it breaks easily. Superglue dries like glass, and breaks like glass.
We do, however, use superglue occasionally. We often use it seal end knots, or coat a frayed strand of cord. We sometimes use it on crimp beads to enhance the closure.
Hot Glue Guns
Hot glue guns are fun to use. When the materials you are using are large and bulky, hot glue guns make the projects go faster.
The glue’s bond will not last forever. The glue will yellow with age.
There is a wide variation in the types of pieces called “rhinestones”. Basically, rhinestones are mirror- or foil-backed pieces of clear glass crystal, glass or plastic.
Sometimes they are faceted; othertimes they are not. Some rhinestones have a flat back so they can be glued directly to the piece; others have a pointed back so they can fit into a cup or bezel. Each design element in the architecture of the rhinestone — base material, overall shape, faceting, foil, and effect — adds to its shine, sparkle and brilliance. The mirror or foil reflects and refracts light. Sometimes, the mirror or foil itself has a special color, effect or treatment applied to it. The clear “glass” can range from, at the most brilliant end, very-leaded glass to somewhat leaded glass to glass to acrylic at the least brilliant end. Sometimes the glass is coated with an effect or treatment.
Your goals for gluing rhinestones into a piece of jewelry or onto a piece of clothing are simple:
- You want a bond that sticks and is durable
- You don’t want the adhesive to ruin the rhinestone
- You want the glue to dry clear and “age” clear
- You don’t want the glue to show outside or over the edges of the stone
- If you’ve gotten glue on the stone, you want to be able to get it off easily
Never use superglue with rhinestones! Superglue clouds the stone. Superglue dries like glass, so its bond shatters like glass when the bond is disturbed.
E6000, or any other brand of epoxy, works best with glass crystal and glass rhinestones, as well as gemstones. Epoxy is a plastic, and sometimes will dissolve or disturb the foils on the backs of acrylic rhinestones, although it is fine for acrylic cabochons or beads which do not have a foil backing. E6000 dries like rubber, so its bond acts like a shock absorber when the piece is hit, dropped, banged or otherwise disturbed. E6000 is great for gluing stones on cloth material, as well, and the bond will withstand several machine washings.
A rhinestone glue or Elmer’s glue works OK for acrylic rhinestones.
Hot glue guns will work with the stones, but the glue doesn’t age well. The bond weakens relatively quickly. The glue yellows somewhat.
When we use E6000 with rhinestones, we put a little drop of glue on the end of a pin. Then we touch the glue to the back of the rhinestone. We maneuver the pin-glue-rhinestone over the place where we want the stone to be. Then we push the rhinestone in place, and simultaneously pull the pin away from the stone. We rub the stone and around the stone with our finger or the pin to get any excess glue off. Before it dries, E6000 rubs off like rubber cement.
About E6000
E-6000 is the jeweler’s glue of choice, and our favorite. It is a one-part epoxy, (meaning you don’t have to mix anything to make the glue — it just comes out of a tube).
Perfect for attaching findings to base metal and costume jewelry pieces.
Also, use E-6000 on bead strands to seal end knots and to provide a strong, flexible seal that won’t become brittle or damage the bead cord.
E-6000 is safe for use with virtually every type of gemstone and works on wood, leather, vinyl, and canvas.
Non-corrosive and self-leveling, E-6000 adheres in 5 to 10 minutes, and hardens to a clear, waterproof cure in 24 hours. This means you have about 10 minutes to position and reposition whatever you are gluing. If you are making jewelry, you should let the piece dry “hard” overnight, before you wear it.
We advise against using superglue for most jewelry-making projects. Superglue discolors stones.
Superglue dries like glass, so its seal shatters like glass when piece is dropped.
E6000 dries like rubber, so its seal acts like a shock absorber when a piece is dropped.
E6000 dries clear.
Two things E6000 won’t do:
- Bond two pieces of smooth glass together, like two glass disks.
- Sometimes, it will pull the foil back away from acrylic rhinestones.
Gluing Marcasites
With marcasites, we always use E6000 (or similar epoxy). This creates the strongest bond.
While this is not foolproof, it is the best and longest lasting solution.
Again, never use superglue.
Also, take off your marcasite jewelry before you wash your hands, or before you attempt to wash the dishes. The hand-soap and dish-detergent dissolve most glues. E6000 will withstand this for awhile, but not forever.

A side effect of some medications given to people suffering from depression is mood swings. While this may seem ironic and cruel, it is fact. How do you deal with this, when you are the watching your significant other go from happy to upset to depressed back to happy. How do you reassure them when they are up and down, especially when the medication is supposed to be curing this very problem?
There are a few things that you can do to help. The first is to offer consistency. Regardless of their mood, offer the same support that you have been offering. Make sure that your partner knows that you understand what they are going through and that you are supporting them no matter what. It is also important that you understand that the best way to deal with mood swings is not to ignore them, but to acknowledge them. Sometimes your significant other will require more help and other times they will be more self-reliant. Going with the flow is crucial in this scenario.
If you find that there are more downward swings, or that you find the upward swings to be shorter or less effective, then it might be something to point out. If the side effects of the drug are causing worse symptoms than the original disease, the medication is clearly problematic. Sometimes it is hard for the person taking the medication to notice the situation. You need to make sure that you bring the scenario to their attention so they can make sure that the therapist and psychiatrist are aware of the problems.

Amino Acids
The building blocks of neurotransmitters; the amino acid 5-HTP is the most popular. Talking it can elevate the mood in cases of depression, anxiety, and panic attacks, and relieve insomnia. This supplement also increases the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin.
B Vitamins
Many people, particularly women over 65, have B-12 deficiencies and respond dramatically to injections of this vitamin - Vitamin B-12 lozenges are also available and quite inexpensive. All B vitamins can boost mood; they work by facilitating neurotransmitter function.
Other pluses of taking a good Vitamin B complex are that they are critical for the prevention of heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer’s.
DHEA
This hormone is marketed in Europe specifically for post-menopausal depression, though it may be helpful for other forms as well. DHEA has been used in conjunction with estrogen to treat hot flashes. It may also help to elevate mood and promote energy.
Essential Fatty Acids
Supplements containing essential fatty acids, such as Omega 3 fish oil or Flax Seed oil are among the best documented. The reason they are so effective? Essential fatty acids are part of every cell membrane, and if those membranes aren’t functioning, well, neither is your brain.
GABA
GABA, or Gamma-Amino butyric Acid, is an amino acid that is considered a major inhibitory neurotransmitter found in approximately 30% to 40% of all brain synapses. In clinical study, GABA supplementation has demonstrated a wide variety of health benefits that may help to provide positive support for: tiredness, fatigue and weakness.
GABA has been used for treatment of depression and can assist in elevating the mood. The amino acid, GAMA can also help treat occasional nervousness, anxiety and panic attacks.
SAM-e
An amino acid combination produced by humans, animals and plants. Supplements come from a synthetic version produced in a lab that has shown a lot of promise in European studies.
SAM-e affects the synthesis of neurotransmitters. Due to its sedative-like qualities, it is widely used as a natural pain reliever and muscle relaxant.
As with any vitamin or supplement, please consult your doctor before taking.

In this article, I am going to explain methods on how to reduce depression. There are ever increasing daily pressures facing people and it is very easy to become down and depressed. I am a person who was often feeling low, sorry for myself and basically was very unhappy, however I have now managed to pull my life around and am now able to cope and enjoy what life brings. I hope you enjoy reading the article and if you are one of the many people who suffer from depression, I hope the advice is beneficial.
My name is Stephen Hill and I am from England. Looking back on my life, as I often do, I now find it hard to believe the way in which I used to think and approach life. I was a very negative person, I would stress about seemingly everything and believed that I was so unfortunate compared to other people.
I would always be comparing my life with those of my friends and family. These people seemed to really enjoy life and did not seem to have a care in the world. I, on the other hand had many issues to deal, with which made life one big struggle. I was unable to talk fluently due to a stammering problem, this stammer caused me many traumas and made me into a very quiet and shy person. This issue alone made me very depressed and made socialising very difficult. I am sure you can imagine the effect it had on my self-confidence and self-esteem.
These were the other issues I had to contend with:
A constant battle with my weight, I was far to over-weight most of the time, this I believe was because I sought comfort in the way of food.
My height, I was the shortest male in my class in high school, this for whatever reason made me feel less of a man and less attractive to members of the opposite sex.
My bald patch, this seems so trivial now, however this area of my scalp where hair does not grow caused me many anxieties, especially when I was a teenager.
Enough is enough.
In my early twenties, I decided that I had had enough of being miserable and depressed. I wanted to be happy and content. I then made a decision to attempt to improve my life, I was going to hopefully achieve this by reading about successful people, and by learning more about depression, positive thinking and ways to improve self-confidence. I spent many months doing this and the results have changed my whole life.
What I needed to do, was not to compare my life to people just in my circle, but to compare it to everyone in the world. I started to read and find out about how people lived in different parts of the world. Watching the news each day would keep me abreast of current affairs. Some of the stories and the way in which people live came not so much as a shock, but as a wake up call to me. I would not want to swap my life with theirs, that is for sure.
The problems that I had or thought I had, were now so small compared to what other people have to cope with, and it actually made me feel quite grateful. I have a weight problem, this is something of my own doing and something which I can change, if I am determined enough. Even though I stammer, I can still converse, I may even be able to cure the stammer, which I now have. I was now suddenly feeling more positive and was now able to seek solutions to my issues.
I have now achieved fluency and am now at a weight that I am happy with, however I could not do anything about my lack of height or about the bald patch. This is not a worry to me, as I am now happy with my height and I show everybody who I meet my bald patch, like I am proud of it.
In conclusion, it is time to pull ourselves out of our depression by becoming stronger, by thinking in a more positive manner, by trying to find solutions to our problems and by realising that in fact we are one of the lucky ones.

Most gambling fans may recently have come upon the slogan “offshore sports betting”, but a few may not be totally sure what it indicates. A foreign gambling web site inherently works external to the jurisdiction of a given land on the other hand it can mean a world wide web based gaming website that should have their servers inside the borders of a country in which computer accessible gaming isn’t currently illicit. Succinctly therefore, it’s a betting website functioning outside the nation of the gambler. Online sports wagering sites are mostly regulated with the help of 3 organizations. These are dubbed OSGA (the Offshore Gaming Association), the IGC (Interactive Gaming Council) and the Fidelity Trust Gaming Association (the FTGA).
Tribe.s Lee outpitches Twins. Liriano
The Offshore Gaming Association is an autonomous institution that supervises the overseas gaming industry with a duty to offer sports bettors a way to to quickly select reputable internet enterprises to play games of luck on, without anguish. It strives to protect the rights of consumers, moreover they don’t demand any yearly expenses. The agency is an expert and objective third party agency which expresses non-biased impressions, advised by customer feedback, objective examination, chats, insider advice and also to supply industry information.
The IGC is a nonprofit organisation. The organisation has been founded to furnish a forum for concerned people to talk over concerns also to advance mutual matters in the multinational online betting business, in an effort to establish even handed and accountable trade instructions and systems which raise client certainty in internet gambling commodities and utilities, and in addition to serve as the trade’s generic strategy advocate furthermore it offers a data clearinghouse.
The Interactive Gaming Council has established a reputation for upholding honor, candor and also sincerity on account of the integrity standards it exhibits, also its appeal for ethical business organizations. The IGC regularises overseas sports gambling via championing an original 10-step code of conduct and also bills betting websites a payment for publishing the council’s logo. Vexed customers may, if they wish, give an account of their challenges to the Interactive Gaming Council.
The Fidelity Trust Gaming Association was set up in an effort to present a benchmark which will upgrade the actions of networked gaming operations. The Interactive Gaming Council understand that by partnering with reputable partners, they are able to perfect an affiliation of the most ethical and professional offshore gaming operations worldwide. So, in summary these are establishments which try to coordinate the dealings of networked gaming and which should function to allay any apprehensions felt by a lot of gambling afficionados. Internet sports betting websites are absolutely harmless, due to the fact that private details shouldn’t be demanded and in addition the rewards not to mention the gambling odds are equivalent to a typical Vegas-style sports bet. They get rid of travel, but still retain the original ethos, however these days you are able to gamble in your home.

Most hair loss sufferers seek solutions from Western medicine or turn to remedies derived from local traditions. Some experts however argue that the ayurvedic system of medicine has much to offer in dealing with hair loss conditions.
Ayurveda is the traditional system of medicine practiced in India and Sri Lanka. It is a complete approach to health care designed to promote a way of life rather than an occasional treatment. As a holistic system of medicine ayurveda focuses on our uniqueness and takes into account our mental attitude, lifestyle and spirit which should not be treated in isolation from each other.
According to ayurveda, the following principles are beneficial to healthy and plentiful hair:
- The scalp must be kept cool, so protection from sun and washing in cold or lukewarm water are paramount.
- Sound nutrition is key, so a hair-friendly diet should emphasize proteins, iron, zinc, sulfur, Vitamin C, Vitamin B-Complex and essential fatty acids.
- Use should be made of hair analysis to ascertain toxicity levels and nutritional deficiencies.
- Oils, for example sesame and coconut, should be applied to the scalp to nourish, lubricate and strengthen the roots. This will also improve circulation to the head.
