Virgin Media also stated that copper wires used by some service providers are not capable of providing a service with “low signal interference” and “high data-carrying capability”, and this too was taken by Sky with a pinch of salt, as Sky uses copper wires for its network.
The ASA however gave Virgin Media a clean chit because it believed that the motive of the advert was not to shun the services offered by other broadband providers, but merely to underscore the company’s strength in providing high-speed fibre optic-enabled internet service.
